#co-mo Connect — the fiber-to-the-home Internet, TV and telephone service being build throughout the Co-Mo Electric Cooperative service territory — today turned up its fastest residential Internet speed from 100 megabits a second to 1 gigabit a second — a tenfold jump.
Subscribers on the 100 mbps plan are now receiving service at 1 gbps for no additional cost.
Along with the gigabit upgrade, subscribers at other Co-Mo Connect Internet tiers were turned up as well. Those at 20 mbps jumped to 35 mbps, and those at 50 mbps went to 100 mbps, each for no additional charge.
“This isn’t a teaser rate,” said Randy Klindt, Co-Mo Connect’s general manager. “We’re not going to turn the speed back down in six months or a year if you don’t pay a whole bunch more per month. This is what are speeds are now.”
Co-Mo Connect business subscribers saw similar free speed upgrades.
