Kyrgyzstan catching up with the rest of the world in fibre deployment

sees drop in prices with new ring

Retail rates for internet services are expected to decline in Kyrgyzstan after the completion of the deployment of a fibre-optic backbone link across the country, reports Tazabek citing Chyngyz Bektashov, the director of the State Communications Agency. The national operator Kyrgyztelecom is building the backbone line, and a fibre-optic ring will be formed after the deployment. The new infrastructure will enable operators to develop LTE and Wimax services.
